To Whom It May Concern

I apologize, I think I have confused you
With my fure of fake tears, and my self-thrown pity parties
That hard road, does that story sound familiar ?
Such drama, such torture, so sad it must be true
I'm sorry, we have nothing in common
A thief and a liar spitting stolen words
Mock feelings of loss
Mimic feelings of emptiness
Can you relate ? Do the words hit home ?
Your life is miserable. I'm just fine
I'm sorry, we have nothing in common
Fell for the martyr facade hook line and sinker
I fooled you again
And now it's over, your shoes don't fit me anymore.

this band was pissed off. i just wish i had gotten the chance to see them.

Crack The Skye

I'm not sure why everyone was so quick to hate on this album. It's fucking awesome and may be the best thing they have released... well, not really... but it's damn good. A little slower than the previous albums but the songwriting is still there and so are the riffs. Brent Hinds does the vocals for the majority of this album and he also wrote most of the music for it. If you don't like his clean vocals, then you probably won't like these songs that much. Scott Kelly from Neurosis also does vocals on the title track.

When I first heard the album title I thought they stole it from some shitty nu-metal band, but apparently "Skye" refers to Brann Dailors sister who committed suicide when she was 14. He wrote most of the lyrics for this.

1. "Oblivion" – 5:46
2. "Divinations" – 3:32
3. "Quintessence" – 5:28
4. "The Czar" – 10:55
i. "Usurper"
ii. "Escape"
iii. "Martyr"
iv. "Spiral"
5. "Ghost of Karelia" – 5:24
6. "Crack the Skye" – 5:54
7. "The Last Baron" – 13:03

PHISH returns to the spaceship

PHISH is back after 5 years off. The spaceship is otherwise known as the Hampton Coliseum in Hampton, VA. This is a 12,000 person venue that is entirely general admission anytime phish plays there, probably the same for other bands. There are a ton of hotels right across the street so if you have a few nights in a row there the party rolls deep because nobody is leaving or driving anywhere really. I saw 6 shows there so far.
As a thank you they made sounboard recordings available free legally on their website. You do have to give an email addy to register, but I'm sure a fake one would work.

Castevet - I Know What A Lion Is (Demo)

These dudes put up their demo for free on myspace a little while ago and I don't know why I waited so long to check it out. It kind of reminds me of older small brown bike with some post-rock parts that sound a little like caspian or explosions in the sky especially in the first song, which caught me off guard. The only problem with the demo is that it's only 3 songs.

Self described as 'melodic beard punk'. Can't wait for the full length.
